“There is not one experience … that’s ever wasted. Everything that is happening to you is … to help you evolve into who you were really meant to be…”
— Oprah Winfrey
✧ MY STORY ✧
It was during my BA in Design Studies that I took a year abroad in Germany. I was exposed to functional design — being able to create something that was subjectively good or bad based on how useful it was.
I returned to SJSU for my Master's In Human Factors & Ergonomics. The more I learned about human psychology and physiology, the more skilled I became in designing both data-driven and aesthetic products.
I got my hands-in every stage of the design process from ideating and designing to user-testing during my time at a bay area UX Design & Research agency, UEGroup.
✧ WHAT IS MY GOAL AS A DESIGNER? ✧
To effectively communicate high stakes information across both language & culture
✧ DESIGN PROCESS TEMPLATE ✧
There is no one-size fits all solution
The beauty and challenge of design is that you can do all the "right steps", but still fail. The important part about design strategy, is that each individual problem has to have a unique set of stages in the design process in order to arrive to the best solution.
1.
Elucidate
Gain insight on user’s actual behavior
Understand the current system and overall data needs
2.
Ideate
Generate insights, questions, and ideas
Imagine possible solutions to key pain points
3.
Create
Focus on workflows that are efficient and natural
Framework-first approach for scalable future work
4.
Validate
Gain insight into how to make the product more safe and effective
5.
Communicate
Present final product to key stakeholders for successful handoff
